6. For even better acceleration, replace the stock clutch springs with high tension racing springs, which will drive your engine to a higher RPM before engaging your drive train. With these sprigs just fly ahead of the other pocket bikes in the race.

7. Talk to the driver who has outperformed you in the race. Find out secrets regarding which performance parts he has used and the brand names from him playing your wit.

So spice up your pocket biking experience with the best performance parts.

Gabriel was in Georgia this past weekend and it turned out to be a great weekend for Gabriel. He came in 3rd place in the Mini Moto Heavy Class. It was his first time at the track, with just a two practice session. The race was held by Florida Supermoto combined with ESMRA, a North X South race.
On Sunday, Gabriel had the entire day of classes with Josh Herrin, a Yamaha factory rider and his brother Zach Herrin, a Graves Yamaha rider. It was amazing! He had good quality time there. Their father and owner of the track ( MGKT), Phil Herrin spent the whole day with Gabriel’s father working on new ideas for his bike.
Also, Travis Pastrana’s manager, Ron Meredith, took the time to talk to Gabriel and showed him Pastrana’s new bike.
Next weekend Gabriel will be racing again in Florida
Thanks for your support!

Can you get dirt bikes for kids?

Dirt biking has become a more popular and much more accessible pastime than it once was. The bikes, parts and accessories have become much cheaper and because of the increase in participants there are gradually more and more tracks to give it a go. It is true that dirt biking is one of the more dangerous sports you can take up and if you are already an avid dirt biker who hasn’t hit the dust yet, it’s almost guaranteed you will at some point.

That said, many of the accidents are through a lack of care or simply because the biker is inexperienced. There is no substitute for time on the track, and if you’re one of many considering the option of dirt bikes for kids then starting them young and keeping a close eye on them is a definite advantage.

Dirt bikes for kids are widely available now; 47cc dirt bikes becoming very popular. Basically, they look exact replicas of the real sized thing but have a smaller engine and lower frame. A mini-moto can safely hold up to about 10 stone in weight.

Are dirt bikes for kids safe?

As long as the bike is treated with respect and the kids have somebody responsible watching over them there is no reason why dirt bikes for kids can?t be just as safe as dirt bikes for adults. Taking attention to buying the proper gear and a bike in good condition will go along way to ensuring the experience is as safe as possible.

Also, be sure to go to a well managed track will offer a little added security. If the track is in good condition and managed on a regular basis there will be less accident black spots where unpredictable and often dangerous accidents can happen. Don’t, though, let your kids race around a track with older riders as this will undoubtedly lead to trouble.

Everything else about dirt bikes for kids.

Dirt bikes for kids are a relatively affordable pastime for your kids. The bike itself will cost around £200 or $400, and the same again for good quality and safe equipment. With a 5 litre tank dirt bikes for kids will go for miles and miles before you need to refill the petrol tank. Apart from these costs there isn’t very much else you need to worry about except paying for the use of a track.

Strathclyde Police are appealing for witnesses after a man threatened a female worker at a Glasgow amusement arcade with a knife before escaping with thousands of pounds.

At around 9.15am on Tuesday, police say the man entered Mega Amusements in the city’s Duke Street and brandished a knife in front to the woman before he ran off with the money.

The suspect is a white male who is approximately five feet tall. He had a local accent and was wearing a motorbike helmet, dark coloured trousers, a balaclava and ski gloves.

He made off on a small black and white ‘mini-moto’ type motorbike, which has a number ‘7′ plate on the front.

Detective Constable Kenny Shaw of Shettleston Police Office said: “The robbery occurred just as the shop was being opened and from studying CCTV footage we believe that the suspect was near the shop for about half an hour before the robbery took place.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw this man in and around the area of Duke Street between 8.30am and 9.30am on Tuesday morning, or may have seen him riding the motorbike to come forward.”

People are of different opinion where pocket rocket mini bikes are concerned. A pocket rocket mini bike is considered safe by some and a death machine by others. Some are even of the opinion that these mini rockets should be banned. But still these motorbikes are being sold like hot cakes and the supply is always limited.

What are these mini pocket rocket bikes about?

These mini bikes are really small as the name suggests. They are a miniature of a regular street bike. If you are driving even a small sports car and someone is riding a mini pocket rocket behind you, you won’t be able to see him or the motorbike. So you can imagine its small size. But those who have ridden them say that they are really exciting to ride and look sleek as well.

These bikes come in either gas or electric. The electric version has rechargeable batteries. They are designed with powerful wheels for all the thrills and turns for you to experience when you’re riding.

How safe are these bikes?

Experts are of the opinion that these pocket rockets are not fit for highways or high traffic zones. The rider can have the misfortune of being ridden over by a truck or van – it’s that small. Parents are always advised not to buy these pocket bikes for their kids. It may look like a child’s play toy but it’s not.

These pocket rockets are designed for racetracks but the places where these pocket bikes are being sold – most of them don’t have a racetrack. So the buyers have no other choice than to take their precious bikes on the road thus risking their lives.

Safety measures for pocket rocket bike riders

Steer these bikes away from your kids. Make sure the person is an expert rider with proper riding gear like helmet and pads. If your kid is riding it make sure he stays on your backyard or within your driveway. Keep an eye on them when they are riding. Parental supervision is highly advised.

Just say the words “electric scooter” and depending on your age, a definite image springs to mind. This without doubt is due to the many different types of electrical scooters available in the market today.

The fist sort of electric powered bomber scooter is the street version of a powered skateboard. These were a metal platform with a folding handle and 2 inline skate wheels. These scooters were all of the rage only one or two years back and as the craze started slowing down, the scooter makers redefined the toy into a transportation auto. Some designs even look like a mini-bike in style. These electrical scooters are marketed to the wealthy teen as a unique and fun way to get around. They are available both with electrical and a little gas driven motor. Check with local authorities relating to the use of these small mini bike scooters. Some are not authorized on the road and cannot legally be ridden on the sidewalk making them less than attractive as a transport device.

The following kind of electric scooter is designed as a get in town mini motorcycle – moped. These units are sold to 20 somethings and any one else who needs to make quick short trips and do not need the worry or bother of driving a vehicle. These are perfect for city travel where grid-lock is common. Though not a full sized motorcycle, many or these units will hold two folks and have accessories like saddle bags to carry groceries and other purchases.

This little units have a long battery charge lifespan and can get to speeds up to about thirty miles an hour with good acceleration. Depending on the amount of starts and stops, these electrical mopeds can go about thirty miles before required recharging. This is mostly more than sufficient to get back and forth to the store several times without an issue. Although the majority are considered street legal, check to make certain any electrical scooter you buy of this sort has been approved by the US Department of transport ( DOT ) and if in Europe, the EU Union transport Agency.

The final type of very cheap electric scooters is marketed toward the adult and senior market. These are generally a wheelchair like device that allows for larger mobility for older folks or those with some motor capabilities. These scooters are engineered to be used both indoors and out with tight cornering and a long battery charge lifespan. These units have a top speed of under five miles and hour but can go 20-30 miles on a charge. It is a mobility device more than a distance transport auto.

All three kinds of electric motor scooters have one thing in common and that’s the need for consistent charging. This is where the weakness of electrically powered anything actually comes into action. If a limited mobility scooter runs out of power, it may not be such a big deal as they’re typically used just for short trips away from home and around the house.

If however , you end up several miles from home on a bike type electric scooter, this can be a difficulty. With no power and your contemporary purchases in hand, the return trip home might be long and tough pushing your scooter.

In the final analysis, the electrical scooter industry is alive and well providing products that fit a growing and diverse market.

The history of motorcycle

Hardly anybody knows today that modern motorcycles come out of wooden bicycles with steam engine 200 of which were constructed by “Northorp” company in 1880s based on drawings of engineer named L. Copeland.

In 1885 Hotlib Daimler made his combustion engine that he put on wooden bicycle. Then in Germany the Hilderbrand brothers and Alois Voflmueller started making small amounts of such vehicles using air tires and 2-cylinders motor. They, in fact, invented the word “motorcycle” (Latin “motor” – “moving” and Greek “cyclos” – “the wheel”).

In fact, the motorcycles got the world recognition in 1895 when French engineers De Dion and Buton constructed their 4-stroke combustion engine and installed it to the special 3-wheel construction. “De Dion – Buton” tricycles were widely produced as well as in Russia and practically at the same time Russian Verner brothers started the French production of bicycles having light belt-drive engine mounted over the front wheel. In 3 years the Daimler’s idea was used by “Laurent-Clement”, “Harley-Davidson”, “Peugeot”, “Yamaha”, “Northon”, “Leitner” and others. As by 1925 over 100 factories all over the world were producing motorcycles the need to classify them appeared. Thus, it was agreed to distinguish the vehicles by their engine volume: light class (up to 300 cm3), middle class (350 – 650) and heavy (over 750 cm3).

Presently we’ve got slightly different classification which is based upon the bicycle’s functioning and design. So, today we have the following groups: motor bikes, mini-bikes, scooters, “classic” bikes, sport bikes, motor outlanders, double function bikes, tourist bikes, special bikes and bikes with buddy seats.

It’s easy to determine the bike type by its appearance. The overhead engine means you see the motor bike, small wheels (R13 maximum) relate to mini-bike, kick or electric starter is a part of scooter. You also may see two types of scooters. The first one is where the engine is mounted in center (between the driver’s legs) and the second one is where the engine is mounted to its rare end and hooded by plastic cap part of which is used as a trunk.

The choppers and the cruisers with 2-level seat, high steer slop and increased front fork spread are the typical representatives of American style bikes. These two as well as the tourist bikes allow the rider to sit straight with legs forward and their huge fairing and luggage coffres are designed to make the long highway travel to a maximum comfort. If you are up to extreme travelling than the 4-wheel outlanders will do it. These ones have wide low pressure tires, overdrive engines and variable transmission. The double function bikes may easily go over highways and outlands at the same time. They got big clearance, narrow rigid frame and specially designed tires.

2 groups of bikes – police and military – are designed to perform special tasks. The first ones are the standard our tourist models with mounted on special equipment and the second ones are the type of double function bikes.

Finally, the sport bikes are classified by various motor sports from drag racing to crossover or endure racing.

YOUNGSTER Aaron Maxfield is experiencing a meteoric rise in the motorsport world – and he is only 13.

The Wootton Bassett ace first tried pocket bike racing in 2007 at the indoor circuit at Hullavington, five miles south west of Malmesbury, and has not looked back since.

Last year he won the National Novice Championship and finished seventh in the GP 50 class of the British Championships, despite having missed three rounds.

He was also second in the National Team Challenge and perhaps most impressively, was runner-up in the National GP 50 having first ridden a gearbox bike just 10 months previously.

Next on the cards for the teenager is the Aprilia Superteens starting in March, a highly-rated championship that takes in the likes of Mallory Park, Snetterton and Brands Hatch.

The championship, broadcast on Motors TV, runs alongside the Nitro Newcomers Championship and offers Maxwell the chance to ride an Aprilia RS 125cc bike against the cream of young riders from across the globe.

His mum Louise Liddell has been behind her son every step of his journey, and she is justifiably proud of her son’s achievement.

She said: “You put him on the bike and he’s so focused, and he’s got to be, because the physical demands of a race weekend is enormous.

“He doesn’t want to come second, he wants to win.

“As far as he’s concerned his career will be to ride in the GPs like Valentino Rossi. That’s his dream and it’s a good target for him.

“Racing has changed him for the better a made him a much more confident person in everyday life.

“It’s the best thing that could have happened to him.”

In order to guarantee his place in the Superteens, Maxfield must first attain his ACU licence, which allows him to race on the larger tracks.

He will be attempting to pass the relevant tests at the end of this month, leaving him little track time before the championship starts in earnest.

And while his mum admitted she would like her son to have a bit more time to prepare, she was confident he would cope with being thrown in at the deep end.

“Because he doesn’t have an ACU licence he can’t ride on the tracks yet,” she said.

“But I’m sure he will throw himself into it and soon it will be like sitting in an armchair again.”
